Hello everyone, it's me Potchi and I'm here to share my final entry in the #WinterCatalog2022 Event. The event was really fun and enjoyable as it gave me an opportunity to showcase some anime that I enjoyed last season. There are shows that I truly enjoyed, but there are some other shows that I think are generic, but I still want to give some appreciation for the hard work put into this shows. So without further ado, let's start.
So here is my honest review of the isekai anime In the Land of Leadale (Leadale no Daichi Nite). As an Isekai fanatic, I see this anime as average compared to other Isekai shows as there is not much going on with it and a lot of scenes are very confusing and out of place, which I will explain later. Although there are many isekai anime better than this show, it's still nice to give some appreciation for the effort, but before I start, I hope you guys are having a nice day and hopefully you will enjoy this review.
So, as I previously stated, Leadale no Daichi Nite is very average in comparison to other new Isekai Anime. When it comes to its plot, theres nothing really unique about it. Yes, there are a couple of scenes that are very interesting, but there are moments where the story just seems confusing, like a random thing keeps popping out of nowhere, but there are also parts that I think deserve some recognition.

In the Land of Leadale (Leadale no Daichi Nite) is a Japanese light novel series made by Ceez and illustrated by Tenmaso and was serialized online between November 2010 and December 2012. Last January 5 to March 23, 2022 an Anime Television Series was aired and was adapted by the Studio Maho Film with 12 episodes in total.
After encountering a sudden accident, Cayna, our protagonist, was left in a coma in real life and her only freedom came from playing the popular game VRMMO RPG Leadale, but shortly her life came to an end. Although she died, she was transported as her own character in another world similar to the game she was playing before dying. The catch was she was transported 200 years in the future, so Cayna set out on an adventure looking for clues to find how she ended up in that world, looking for more knowledge about the place she got reincarnated and if there were others like her who got transported. As she sets off along the way, she gains friends and companions who help her adjust to that world.
Yes, no truck-kun in this one, and although the plot is generic for my liking, as I have watched too many Isekai that I get used to the plot. It's not that bad, but it's also not very outstanding compared to the other shows. Maybe because it focuses more on the adventure and not much development occurred in the anime. However, she did set off to find clues and learn more about the place, but they always ended up going in another direction, which I didn't appreciate because it made some parts of it empty and inconsistent, such as Cayna randomly helping someone in the street and some problems getting solved so quickly, then another problem arrives. There are also parts that were left unanswered, which makes me very frustrated, just like how she got there in the first place or if there are people like her in that world, which is the supposed goal she wants to achieve.
Although it concerns me, I also think that it made sense. After all, it is very hard to just wake up in another world and not know what to do and expect. I also thought that her coping mechanism is by making herself busy by looking for clues and knowledge in that strange world. Thankfully, she has companions that could help her adjust to that unknown place. At least she tried her best, but eventually she gave up and just led a peaceful life with her adopted daughter in the village she first got transported into. Even though it's not the best anime so far, it did leave a very chill and fun vibe with some wholesome, comedic and cute moments.

Focusing this part on the Main Character
I don't have a strong opinion of the other characters because Cayna gets more screen time than the others because she is the protagonist of the show. Most of the characters displayed in the show were used for the plot to continue going. They were used either for entertainment, such as comedic relief, or just to spice up the on-going story. It is not bad, though, as it made me very interested in the anime and made me keep going.
Although I said that Cayna got all the screentime, her personality and development were showcased properly in the show. She didn't really have much character development like how the usual protagonist in Isekai's grew up to be super strong as she was already on her max as she got reincarnated into her own character, which she played for quite a while. I think her growth was more focused on her personality and her social interaction with the characters. We knew that she got transported there and from the experience she got in the game, she tried to develop an interaction and relationship with the other character as she decided to settle down in that world.
I also love her motherly actions towards her adopted children. You could see how she values and loves her kids, but she also shows a strict side of her. I don't really have much to say about the other supporting characters, but they are very helpful for the plot development. The characters are not really memorable, so I will just focus on Cayna herself. The interaction with the characters, though, is very nice. Although some of the interactions are bland, they were still very well executed for the viewers.

I could say that the animation is nice, but there is nothing about it that stands out for me. Normally, there is a distinct art style in an animation that allows us to recognize the anime from a single glance, but I couldn't see it in this one. Although there are nice features, especially the expression and the eyes, are very nice. I love how they were executed. Even though the animation is average, the vibe is there. I can sense the fantasy game in the animation. I also want to address the fight scenes. Although they are nice, I think they lack animation because the execution of fights only lasts for a few seconds or minutes, which I think could have been made better. The background, design, and style are also generic, but they actually complement the simplicity of the anime. It gives a simple and refreshing vibe. All in all, the animation could have been a little bit better, but still, Maho Film did a great job, and I know they also did By the Grace of the Gods, which is one of my favorite Isekai anime.

The Op "Happy Encounter" by TRUE and The Ed "Hakoniwa no Koufuku" by Azusa Tadokoro are really good, especially the Ed. It makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable whenever I listen to it. I think it's very nice to listen to if you are tired and want to sleep. It just sets the mood. While the Op is very energetic and it gives me the 2010-2015 anime Op's, although the first second is not my cup of tea, the rest is very good to listen to. All in all, I love both songs, and I think the artist really did a great job as the songs really match the anime. I also want to add how these two songs match together, as when you watch the anime you start with a very energetic and fun song, which I think sets the mood. It makes you feel excited, and at the end of the episode you will have the relaxing song, which I think portrays the end of the episode.

Overall, I think this anime is good and is worth watching, but some might not find it appealing as it is not as action packed as the new isekai shows being released these days. It's more of the old kind of Isekai, which focuses more on adventuring and making companions. I do recommend the anime, but if you are not into this type, you could still try watching it. But if you really don't like it, it's still fine. We all have our differences when it comes to taste. I also want to talk about some reviews talking about how boring this one is. Although it lacks the excitement the other isekai has, it also has its own charm to it. Before ignoring this anime, please try it and give it a chance. I hope you guys will still enjoy it.
That concludes my review of Leadale no Daichi Nite. To see my other posts, tap the #Itspotchii to see them. This event really gave me the opportunity to showcase some shows I really enjoyed in the winter of 2022, and hopefully if you haven't seen the shows I reviewed, you should check them out. Even though I was busy this week, I could still fit the events on my schedule, and hopefully my schedule will be free this upcoming week. That's all. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day, everyone!
